Ballet shoes cake pops

These cake pops were for my daughter’s birthday. I made a ballet dress cake, and when she saw it, she said, “Don’t forget the shoes!” So ballet shoes cake pops it was.

I had a vision in my head when planning these cake pops. Cake is hard to mould into very long, slim lines, and while I could have made a ballet shoe cake pop, I didn’t want fat ballet feet. I could have used a mould to make the shoes but moulded chocolate has a stiff, cookie cutter feel to it. I wanted to emulate the grace of a dancer, and the long, beautiful lines. This didn’t fully translate to what was in my head, but it was close. If I have another chance, I’ll do version 2.0!
