The brief was the Mockingbird logo, flames and gold crusted flames cake pops. The first two were easy enough, but I’ll admit the gold crusted flames threw me for a bit. I came up with using gold crystal sugars amid sprinkled on after teasing the chocolate to mimic flames.

I’ve made loads of unicorn cake pops and unicorn cookies, but this one popped my “unicorn cake” cherry. The client also ordered unicorn image biscuits along with them, and I took joy in finding the perfect image and adding a little detail to create more depth to the cookie.
The mum sent me a few pictures of naval teddy bear cookies, but also wanted the name printed across the teddy. This teddy couldn’t quite wear a striped sailor shirt, because that would have been too busy visually. So we rejigged the design, and printed Theo’s name across a blue sailor outfit.
Wings, or anything that juts out, can be tricky on cake pops. If you join them to the main body, they will appear seamless but the shape will run once they are all coated in choc. If you attach say, a fondant piece to the main body, these become brittle and can snap. Aeroplanes with […]
