I’ve been getting a number of Harry Potter cakes and cake pops recently, even one for a baby shower! When I mentioned this to my teenager, he said there is a popular new Harry Potter play.
This cake isn’t unique in the world of Harry Potter cakes, but the client asked for a plaque with her daughter’s name and I was pretty pleased with this one, printed on fondant with an old scroll type background.
This one is a dark choc mud ganache. It was my first sorting hat, and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t take me long at all. What did take ages was handcutting the Happy Birthday in Harry Potter font and painting it gold. I don’t think I will attempt this again without a Harry Potter font cutter.
